The eighth week is already upon us. And I have a nine-game lead.

I didn’t add any last week. We parted ways on four disagreements, going 9-5 each for the seventh 14-game weekend.

For the year, I’m at 66-41-1. MDS is 57-50-1.

This week we are again at odds over four games.

Scroll to see all of the week eight picks.

Ravens (-1) at Buccaneers

MDS point of view: The Buccaneers can’t be as bad as they’ve been looking for the past few weeks, can they? I don’t think so, but I also don’t think they’re going to win in a short week when they have so much to fix.

The choice of MDS: Crows 23, Buccaneers 20.

Florio’s review: It’s hard to accept that the Buccaneers aren’t very good. But they are not. And Ravens are. The only question is whether they can hold a late lead.

Florio’s choice: Crows 27, Buccaneers 23.

Broncos (+2.5) vs. Jaguars

MDS point of view: The Jaguars have been in every game, usually failing in the end. This time, they’ll come out on top against a Broncos team that’s going nowhere.

The choice of MDS: Jaguars 16, Broncos 14.

Florio’s review: Will Nathaniel Hackett be left behind in London?

Florio’s choice: Jaguars 16, Broncos 13.

Panthers (+4.5) at Falcons

MDS point of view: Credit the Panthers and coach Steve Wilks for not dropping out of the season when many thought they would last week. This week, I think they’ll come down to earth as the Falcons win a game that’s surprisingly important in the NFC South race.

The choice of MDS: Falcons 28, Panthers 17.

Florio’s review: I’m not ready to leave the Steve Wilks bandwagon just yet.

Florio’s choice: Panthers 24, Falcons 20.

Bears (+9.5) at Cowboys

MDS point of view: I liked how the Bears changed their offense Monday night to give Justin Fields more running opportunities, but against a solid Cowboys defense, I’m not sure the Bears will be able to do much.

The choice of MDS: Cowboys 17, Bears 10.

Florio’s review: The Bears went all-in with extra time to beat the Pats. Do they have anything left over a short week to beat the Cowboys?

Florio’s choice: Cowboys 20, Bears 14.

Dolphins (-3.5) to Lions

MDS point of view: The Lions are cratering, and if they can’t turn things around quickly, Dan Campbell’s seat is going to get awfully hot. I don’t see anything changing this week.

The choice of MDS: Dolphins 28, Lions 21.

Florio’s review: With the return of Tua, the Dolphins find their rhythm.

Florio’s choice: Dolphins 27, Lions 17.

Cardinals (+3.5) at Vikings

MDS point of view: The Vikings could get away with NFC North, which I don’t think anyone expected before the season. They will get another win on Sunday.

The choice of MDS: Vikings 24, Cardinals 21.

Florio’s review: Minnesota continues to find a way to win late, as long as the Vikings can avoid a few six picks.

Florio’s choice: Vikings 28, Cardinals 24.

Raiders (-2) at Saints

MDS point of view: After a poor start, I expect the Raiders to continue some racing in the coming weeks, including winning their second in a row on Sunday in New Orleans.

The choice of MDS: Raiders 23, Saints 17.

Florio’s review: The Raiders have a chance to fight their way into the playoff conversation. Saints too, but only because their division is so bad.

Florio’s choice: Raiders 24, Saints 20.

Patriots (-1.5) at Jets

MDS point of view: The Jets are playing better than expected, and their defense should do well against the struggling Patriots offense that still hasn’t identified its starting quarterback.

The choice of MDS: Jets 14, Patriots 13.

Florio’s review: Just when it feels like the Patriots are falling apart, they find a way to pull themselves together.

Florio’s choice: Patriots 17, Jets 14.

Steelers (+11) at Eagles

MDS point of view: The Eagles will run all over the Steelers as they keep the NFL’s only undefeated record intact.

The choice of MDS: Eagles 24, Steelers 10.

Florio’s review: Kenny Pickett needs more reps to reach his ceiling. He has a long way to go to get there.

Florio’s choice: Eagles 31, Steelers 17.

Titans (-2) at the Texans

MDS point of view: The Titans have taken a step back from last season, but they are still AFC South class.

The choice of MDS: Titans 24, Texans 21.

Florio’s review: The Titans have a knack for quietly racking up victories while no one is watching.

Florio’s choice: Titans 28, Texans 20.

Commanders (+3) at Colts

MDS point of view: Taylor Heinicke versus Sam Ehlinger. Can you feel the excitement?

The choice of MDS: Colts 10, Commanders 6.

Florio’s review: The trade decision to bench Matt Ryan may not sit well with football players who want to win now.

Florio’s choice: Commanders 13, Colts 10.

49ers (-1.5) at Rams

MDS point of view: The Rams offense has been terrible this year, and I can’t believe it’s going to continue like this. They will take a step forward and earn an important victory in the NFC West.

The choice of MDS: Rams 24, 49ers 21.

Florio’s review: The Rams just don’t have the talent to compete with the 49ers, especially since the 49ers will be feeling desperate this weekend.

Florio’s choice: 49ers 28, Rams 17.

Giants (+3) at Seahawks

MDS point of view: I keep picking against the Giants 6-1 and they keep proving me wrong. Let’s try again.

The choice of MDS: Seahawks 27, Giants 21.

Florio’s review: The Giants are good, but the Seahawks are good enough to bring New York’s record back to reality.

Florio’s choice: Seahawks 27, Giants 20.

Packers (+11.5) at Bills

MDS point of view: Aaron Rodgers is a double-digit underdog for the first time, and for good reason: the Bills are much better than the Packers in all phases of the game.

The choice of MDS: Bills 31, Packers 17.

Florio’s review: The spirit of Green Bay will agree, but the Bills are just too strong.

Florio’s choice: Invoices 42, Packers 10.

Bengals (-3.5) at Browns

MDS point of view: Joe Burrow is playing exceptional football, and the Bengals will keep pace in the AFC North two-team race by beating the Browns.

The choice of MDS: Bengals 30, Browns 17.

Florio’s review: The Bengals are less and less disappointing. The Browns become more one.

Florio’s choice: Bengals 35, Browns 20.
