Sophia Grace of ‘Ellen’ fame announces she’s pregnant

On Saturday October 22, Sophia Grace Brownlee announced that she was pregnant!

The 19-year-old influencer – who rose to fame for her childhood appearances on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ – revealed in a YouTube video on her channel that she is expecting her first child and is 21 weeks or about five months, leaving four more months in her pregnancy.

“I’m sure a lot of you are going to be very shocked because it was probably quite unexpected,” she said in the video. “But I was very shocked when I first found out about it. I’ve gotten used to it now and I’m super, super happy with it. And I can’t wait to share this journey with you.”

“So I’m super excited. And I just thought I’d let you know in today’s video, talk about it a bit,” she added. “Make sure you only comment on nice things. I don’t want negative comments. Negative comments will be deleted and blocked.”

Brownlee revealed that she already knows the gender of the baby, but will save that revelation for a future video.

“So as you can probably see I have balloons next to me that are pink and blue because I’m not going to reveal anything about gender.” she says. “I actually know the gender because I found out about it, but I’m going to reveal the gender in a separate video to this one, so you can expect to see it soon on my channel. So be sure to pay attention to that. and I don’t really know, I don’t know what to talk about because there’s a lot of stuff.”

Brownlee shared two ultrasounds in the recent YouTube video, one taken at 12 weeks and the other at 20 weeks. She showed the first ultrasound to the camera and described the image, adding: “As you can see the baby is kind of laying there and they were covering their eyes a little like that, like a little shy. So it was super, super cute.

She called the ultrasounds taken during her 20-week appointment her favorite, explaining, “It’s really cute because the baby is sucking her own hand.”

“You can kind of see the arm, it’s the head, it’s the arm and he’s sucking his thumb there, and then it’s the belly,” she added. “So it was absolutely so funny to see. It was so cute.

Throughout the rest of the announcement video, Brownlee spoke candidly about her pregnancy so far and various milestones throughout. She recalled that around week eight of her pregnancy, she took a test that would detect the baby’s sex early, which ended up matching the results her doctors shared during her 20-week checkup.

Brownlee also opened up about the experience of hearing her baby’s heartbeat for the first time during her first check-up appointment around week 17 of her pregnancy. She described the experience as “so cool”, adding, “It’s crazy to think there’s literally another life inside of you.”

She opened up about her experience with nausea early in her pregnancy, explaining, “I felt very, very sick for a long time. It still comes up sometimes now, it’s really really gross and it literally ruins your whole day.”

“I don’t know why they call it morning sickness because it lasted all day for me, all day,” she added. “Fortunately, it’s going away a bit.”

At the end of the video, she again emphasized how excited she was about her pregnancy and that she was able to share the news, adding, “I’m so happy that I finally told everyone. “

Brownlee and her cousin, Rosie McClelland, 15, went viral when they performed their cover of Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass” on “Ellen” in 2011, sporting matching pink tutus and tiaras.

The duo continued to appear regularly on “Ellen” for several years, interviewing celebrities on their own series, “Tea Time with Sophia Grace and Rosie.” They even stopped by “Ellen” the same month DeGeneres ended her final season to reminisce about their viral moment.
